Match The Color Of A Image Creating A Beautiful Sunset

In this tutorial we are going to learn how to use the Match Color option in Photoshop. We have an image of a Bridge shot in the morning and we can easily change this image to look like it is late in the day and the sun is setting. To achieve this effect is quite simple and we are going to do it in just under 10 steps.

Roll Over Image.

Open the image that you want to work with and also open any image of a sunset.

Load the first image in Photoshop by going to File Open and navigate to the folder where you have stored your images.

Repeat step 1 for the second image.

Select the Bridge Layer.

Go to Image and click on it.

Image>Next choose>Adjusments.

And last >Match Color.

The Match Color dialog box will open. We will only need to use 2 settings for this task.

Click the drop down menu and select the image of the sunset, Next to it there is a thumbnail for you to check that you have selected the correct image.

The working image will now take on the color attributes of the sunset image. Most probably the effect will be a bit too much.

Let’s start adjusting the Fade slider until we are happy with the result.

The Luminance and Color Intensity setting are most of the time OK to leave at default.

When you are happy with the results click the OK button to apply the changes.

And the effect is now completed.
